Articling Student

 

Randy Ai Law Office is seeking an articling student for a 10-month term. Shorter terms available for students with abridged articling options.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Completed three years of law school

  • Strong research and writing skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Highly developed time-management skills

  • An interest in labour/employment law would be an asset

Randy Ai Law Office is a boutique labour and employment law firm in downtown Toronto, conveniently located near Yonge and Queen. The firm was founded by Randy Ai, Barrister and Solicitor, an Osgoode graduate and highly respected labour and employment lawyer.

Articling Students Responsibilities

 

Articling students at Randy Ai Law Office will be responsible for the following:

 

  • Legal research

  • Drafting and editing of legal letters and correspondence

  • Drafting and editing of pleadings (including pleadings for the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, Ontario Labour Relations Board, Small Claims Court, and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice etc.)

  • Drafting and editing of contracts, agreements, witness statements, policies, affidavits, and other legal documents

  • Attending or assisting with client meetings

  • Attending or assisting with mediations and court appearances

 

Compensation:

 

Given the size of the firm, unfortunately, this position does not provide a base salary. 

 

Start date:

 

The start date is flexible.
